Figma has made its prompt-to-app coding tool, Figma Make, available to all users. Previously in beta for "Full Seat" subscribers, the tool now allows all users to build prototypes and apps using natural language descriptions, regardless of coding skills. However, publishing created designs remains restricted to Full Seat users; other tiers (View, Collab, Dev, Starter) are limited to experimentation within personal drafts. Figma Make notably allows users to include design references (images or Figma designs) to guide the AI.

The launch coincides with the release of other AI features, including a Make and Edit image tool and a resolution boosting feature. Figma is also introducing an AI credit system, allocating credits based on subscription tiers, with Full Seat users currently having unlimited access. Figma plans to allow team admins to purchase additional credits for power users later in the year.

Impact Statement: Figma Make's wider availability democratizes app development, but full functionality remains tied to the highest subscription tier. The introduction of an AI credit system introduces a new monetization strategy for Figma's AI features.
