Apple Announces AppleCare One: Multi-Device Subscription Plan
Apple introduced AppleCare One, a new subscription service costing $19.99 per month. This plan covers up to three Apple devices, with additional devices added for $5.99 per month each. Coverage includes battery service, unlimited accidental damage repairs, and 24/7 priority support, mirroring AppleCare Plus benefits. Significantly, AppleCare One allows adding products up to four years old (compared to the previous 60-day window for AppleCare Plus), provided they are in "good condition" and pass Apple's diagnostic checks. Headphones can only be added if less than a year old. Theft and loss coverage is included for iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. AppleCare One is available starting July 24th via iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Stores.
AppleCare One is the latest in Apple's services push, following the Apple One bundled service plan. The company recently reported all-time high services revenue.
Impact Statement: AppleCare One offers consumers a potentially more cost-effective way to manage Apple device protection, particularly for households with multiple devices. This move further strengthens Apple's services revenue stream.
