Manchester United announced the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on a contract until 2030, with an option for a further year. The transfer fee is £65 million ($88 million), with an additional £6 million ($8 million) possible in add-ons. Mbeumo, a 25-year-old Cameroon international, scored a career-high 20 goals in the 2024-25 Premier League season, placing him among the league's top scorers. He expressed excitement about joining his "dream club," aiming to improve further under manager Ruben Amorim.

Mbeumo's versatility was highlighted, having played effectively on the right wing and as a center-forward, starting every league game for Brentford last season. He joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019 and made 242 appearances, contributing 70 goals and 51 assists. Manchester United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Mbeumo's consistent performance and goal-scoring record. Mbeumo is United's fourth signing of the summer, following Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Enzo Kana-Biyik. United's preseason tour includes matches in the United States in July and August.

Impact Statement: This significant transfer strengthens Manchester United's attacking options ahead of the upcoming season.
