Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated Iran is prepared for potential war with Israel and remains unconvinced of a lasting ceasefire following a 12-day conflict last month. He confirmed Iran's commitment to its nuclear program for peaceful purposes, despite international pressure. Pezeshkian's comments, made in an exclusive Al Jazeera interview, followed reports that damage to Iranian nuclear facilities from US-led strikes was less extensive than initially claimed. He also addressed an assassination attempt against him on June 15th, alleging it was part of a broader Israeli plan to destabilize Iran.

Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's readiness to retaliate against any further Israeli military action. He dismissed claims that Iran's nuclear program is over, asserting that its capabilities reside in the minds of its scientists. He also clarified that Iranian strikes on a US base in Qatar were not intended as an attack on Qatar itself, maintaining positive relations with the nation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi echoed Pezeshkian’s stance on the nuclear program, stating Iran is open to negotiations for peaceful use, contingent on sanctions relief. Talks between Iran, France, Germany, and the UK are scheduled for Friday.

Iran's continued defiance and commitment to its nuclear program, coupled with its assertive stance against Israel, raises significant concerns regarding regional stability and the potential for further conflict.
